Subject: The Internet

Although I am not an American, your decicions about the internet will affect me directly. I live just north of your border (in Canada) and rely on the proper functioning of the internet for both business and recreation.

The reason that the internet has become what it is, is because all packets (up till now) have all been treated equally. Anyone can create a new website and expect a level playing field to compete on. Anyone can sign up a high-speed internet account, and expect to access any site on the web without prejudice. If you allow ISPs to charge people for packet priority, the internet will simply become a playground for the richest of the internet elite, stifiling new inovation, and destroying what has become humanities greatest, most egalitarian acheivement.

America created the internet, and we thank you for that. Please don't go down in history as the country that destroyed the internet!
