Subject: ICANN Recommendation

To Whom It May Concern:

It was already determined years ago that ICANN would become its own entity as of January this year. It is currently July and nothing has been done. Currently the United States runs ICANN and this is restrictive for many other world powers.

Being that ICANN only consults the US government on rare occasions, it seems necessary to make ICANN its own international entity either as an NGO or as as a part of the UN or another international body.

As an independent NGO, no government would be able to control the new frontier of the internet and no overstepping of boundaries would occur. However, as a part of an international body, a monopoly situation would be avoided and prices would ideally stay where they are or cheaper.

Therefore, it seems key that the United States let ICANN go and become a free entity.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
