Subject: DNS Transition
DNS should be transferred to an international administration
under the
UN. Generic TLDs should be encouraged to migrate to CC
TLDs of .us for
websites that are primarily US-based.
For example, all .com, .org and .edu domains should
be encouraged (but
not required) to migrate to .com.us, .org.us and .edu.us
respectively
(if primarily US-based) while .gov and .mil should be
required to
transition to .gov.us and .mil.us (respectively).
All .us domains domains should be required to have more
stringent
registration process (For example, the registree must
support a SSN or
similar to register) to be a deterrent to fraudsters.
Simular to how
in Australia, .com.au registrations require an ABN (Australian
Business Number) which is registered with their government
(through
ASIC). |
