ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF COMMERCE NANCY J. VICTORY
COMMENDS FCC FOR INITIATING BROADBAND PROCEEDING

Statement by Nancy J. Victory, Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information, and Administrator of NTIA:

"I commend the Commission, under the able leadership of Chairman Powell, for initiating a proceeding today to address the regulatory treatment of broadband. Through its action, the Commission has demonstrated its recognition that broadband holds the promise of improving the lives of all Americans. In this proceeding and those it initiated late last year, the Commission has created a framework for thoughtful and expeditious action on the complex and multifaceted issues affecting broadband. We look forward to providing input in these proceedings."
