Summit to Address Critical Homeland
Security Issue:
WHAT: The PSWN-NTIA Current and Emerging Solutions to Public Safety Communications Interoperability Summit will be held June 11-12, 2002, at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Center in Washington, DC. State and federal chief information officers, congressional staffers, county administrators, mayors, state legislators, and representatives from associations of elected and appointed officials are expected to attend. The Public Safety Wireless Network (PSWN) Program and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) will jointly sponsor the summit. WHO: Featured speakers include-- · Nancy Victory, Assistant Secretary of CommerceWHEN: June 11-12, 2002, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. WHERE: Ronald Reagan International Trade Center, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC Audio of the summit will be Web cast over the Internet and made available from NTIA's Web site www.ntia.doc.gov during the 2-day event. The PSWN Program, a jointly sponsored initiative of the Department of Justice and Department of the Treasury that addresses public safety wireless communications interoperability, is sponsoring this event along with NTIA, an agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce. The NTIA is the President's principal advisor on telecommunications and information issues. Members of the media are invited to attend the summit.
