Commerce Deputy Secretary to Address Use of Incentives as
Part of President's Spectrum Policy Initiative

Deputy Secretary of Commerce David A. Sampson will deliver opening remarks and kick off a two-day policy reform workshop on the use of economic or other incentives in order to increase the efficiency of spectrum use. The workshop will address incentives that apply both to federal government as well as non-government spectrum users. Session topics will include spectrum valuation, rights and secondary markets, sharing and fees.

This is the second workshop on spectrum policy that NTIA has sponsored through the National Academy of Sciences. In early 2004, NTIA sponsored a workshop on a wide range of spectrum policy issues of concern to government spectrum users, industry, and consumers.
