All Hazard Warnings Roundtable:

The Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information and Administrator of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), Gregory L. Rohde, in cooperation with the hazard warning multi-agency working group, will host a roundtable discussion open to the public that will explore how new and existing technologies can be used to provide more assurance that the warning of approaching storms or other catastrophes will be sent to those who need it most, through whatever means is available. The public is requested to comment on issues relating to the means by which government agencies, the public, and private industries can work together to begin disseminating effective hazard warnings to help save lives.

The All Hazard Warning Roundtable was held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on July 17, 2000, at the:

Written comments must be filed on or before August 18, 2000. Written reply comments must be filed on or before September 1, 2000.

Submission of Comments:

The Department of Commerce invited the public to submit written comments in paper or electronic form. Acceptable submission formats are described in the Federal Register: Request for Comments. Comments may be mailed to Jeng Mao, Public Safety Program, National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), U.S. Department of Commerce, Room 4624, 1401 Constitution Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20230.
