Ben R. Caldwell

Ben R. Cadwell has more than 20 years experience as a producer, director, editor, writer, and teacher in theatrical, documentary and television field. He is also the creative force behind KAOS Network a cutting-edge, state of the art multimedia facility in Leimert Park Village in South Central Los Angeles.

Since 1984, KAOS Network has provided a youth and adult artists' studio, classroom, production center which teach a series of workshops using interactive video to demystify the various "Light Art" technologies. As an historical advocate for inner city youth, Mr. Caldwell provides access to technology previously outside the realm of urban youth giving them a secure place to work, play create and produce.

Mr. Caldwell currently directs and teaches the California Institute of the Arts Community Partnership Youth Digital Arts program at KAOS Network and nine other Los Angeles community sites. Video teleconferencing within Los Angeles, creating CD-ROMS, using the Internet, and other cutting-edge technologies are introduced to the youth for better understanding of artmaking in the 21st Century.
