Tracy Gray is Vice President for Youth Services
at the Morino Institute.
She provides the leadership and has the overall responsibility
for the Morino Institute's philanthropic efforts focused
on improving the quality of learning programs for children
and youth. She directs the YouthLearn
Initiative, a nationally recognized effort that offers
comprehensive resources for technology-enriched learning
programs in after-school settings and K-12 classrooms.
Prior to joining the Institute, Tracy served as the
Deputy Chief Operating Officer for the Corporation
for National Service. In that capacity, she provided
leadership to implement the legislation to place more
than 50,000 AmeriCorps members in 450 programs across
the nation. Prior to joining the Corporation, she was
Director of Research and Technology at the Points of
Light Foundation. Under her direction, VolunteerNet,
in conjunction with AOL, was established to link the
volunteers to information and opportunities in their
communities.
Prior to this work, Tracy had spent more than fifteen
years in the areas of educational public policy, evaluation,
and organizational management and development. She
was responsible for the first national AIDS public
education program established by the American Red Cross,
which provided information to more than 3,000 chapters
nationwide and abroad in English and Spanish.
A native of New York City, Tracy was educated at
the University of California, Riverside, where she
received her B.A. in Psychology and a California Secondary
Teaching Credential for Spanish. She received her M.A.
and Ph.D. from Stanford University in Education and
Psychology. She is Vice Chair of the DC Commission
on National and Community Service. and was awarded
an Educational Policy Fellowship at the Institute for
Educational Leadership and a Ford Fellowship for Education
and Public Policy Studies at Stanford University.
