Lawrence E. Sarjeant is Vice President for
Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel for the United
States Telecommunications Association. He represents
the Association before the Federal Communications Commission,
other federal agencies, the courts, and at industry forums.
Prior to joining USTA, Mr. Sarjeant was Vice President
Federal Regulatory at US WEST.
Mr. Sarjeant first joined the local exchange carrier
industry in 1983 as an attorney with Pacific Northwest
Bell Telephone Company in Seattle, WA. Before joining
Pacific Northwest Bell, Mr. Sarjeant was an Assistant
Attorney for the State of Washington.
He received his law degree in 1976 from Rutgers,
and his B.A. from Brown University.
