Federal Environmental and Historic Preservation Laws
NEPA is sometimes referred to as the Federal "umbrella" of environmental laws. "Compliance with NEPA" can incorporate, and is often taken to mean, compliance with other Federal laws and regulations that protect the natural and human environment. When a PSIC project is reviewed by NTIA, its relevance to and compliance with the following laws and Executive Orders (EO) are evaluated. PSIC grantees should be familiar with these laws and EOs so that they understand the need and context for information sharing with NTIA and other Federal agencies. Proactive delivery of comprehensive PSIC project descriptions and supporting information to NTIA expedites environmental reviews and project authorization.
