Dear Secretary Daley

International Not-for-Profit Corporation to Administer Policy for the Internet Name and Address System.

We have been handed a copy of a recent communication from Dr Jon Postel of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority to the US Commerce Department recommending proposed new board members for the new organisation. We have also been informed that, should we wish to offer any comments on the document, we should submit these to you by the end of today.

We wish to express our concern at the fact that the proposed new Board does not include any representation from the continent of Africa. As a consequence, we submit that the Board is not geographically representative and does not reflect the global diversity of internet users.

In addition, the list of proposed board members does not seem to include a representative :of international trademark holders who, we submit, are vitally interested in the policies for the Internet Name and Address System.

We trust that these comments will be taken into account when finalising the composition of the Board.
