Angela Simpson photoAngela Simpson is the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Commerce Department’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration. Ms. Simpson joined NTIA in 2009 from the Obama for America Campaign. She has more than a decade of experience working in the telecommunications industry. Ms. Simpson served as Director of Federal Regulatory at Covad Communications,  practiced communications law at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP, and was an assistant director at the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS) trade association. She handles a wide range of communications and Internet policy issues at NTIA in addition to agency management functions. Ms. Simpson is a graduate of the University of Maryland – College Park and earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School.
