California

California Emergency Management Agency

California will utilize its Office of Emergency Services and the soon-to-be established California First Responders Network Board of Directors (Board) to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP), with the California Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC) serving as an advisory committee to the Board.  As part of the program, the State intends to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan, and will rely on four existing regional committees, public forums, and town hall meetings as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.  California will use its Tribal Advisor and Tribal Board and SIEC representatives to engage its 109 federally recognized tribes in public safety broadband planning efforts.
