Louisiana

Louisiana State Police

Louisiana will leverage its existing governance body, the Statewide Interoperability Executive Committee (SIEC), and the recently established SIEC Broadband Subcommittee to implement its SLIGP award.  The state intends to use SLIGP funds to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan to include new goals and initiatives related to public safety broadband.  Louisiana will use the SIEC, state public safety associations, and the nine existing regional interoperability committees as the primary vehicle for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.  The state has four federally recognized tribes.  The Governor’s Office of Indian Affairs, which coordinates with the four tribes, holds a seat on the Louisiana SIEC.  Louisiana will leverage this representation to engage the tribes in public safety broadband planning efforts.
