Nevada Division of Emergency Management
Nevada will use its Nevada Commission on Homeland Security (NCHS) and its State of Nevada Network (SONNet) subcommittee to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP). The Nevada Communications Steering Committee (NCSC) will support SONNet as a technical advisory committee, and the State plans to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan as part of SLIGP. Nevada will use SONNet, the Governor’s Board Task Force, counties, and professional organizations, including the Nevada Association of Counties and the Nevada League of Cities, as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions. The State plans to leverage several existing relationships to engage its 27 federally recognized tribes in public safety broadband planning efforts, including the tribal representatives on the NCHS, NCSC, Governor’s Broadband Task Force, and the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada.
