South Carolina

South Carolina Budget and Control Board Division of State IT

South Carolina will use its Division of State Information Technology (DSIT) and the soon-to-be established DSIT South Carolina FirstNet Broadband Committee to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP).  The State plans to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan as part of SLIGP, and will use existing intrastate regional bodies, including Firefighters Association regions, Emergency Management Division regions, South Carolina Department of Homeland Security regions, and various professional and public safety associations, such as the Council of Governments and the Association of Counties, as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.  South Carolina has actively engaged the York County Office of Emergency Management, which provides public safety services to the State’s one federally recognized tribe, in its public safety broadband planning efforts.
