	NTIA Advanced Technology Forums NTIA held a series of forums focusing on innovative technologies that are redefining telecommunications and reshaping the competitive landscape. Drawing upon experts from industry, government and academia, the forums fostered discussion of the most recent developments in telecommunications, the effects on competition, and the policy implications. The first forum on September 4, 1997 focused on Internet Telephony. The second forum, on December 17, 1997, examined Wireless Local Loop applications. The third forum, New Directions in Telecom, was held on Wednesday, February 4, 1998. A final forum was held on New Directions in International Telecom on April 1, 1998.
