The Internet has its roots in the US. The US economy is boosted by sales of items over the internet. The Internet is still very American centric. Leave it alone. It works, if you toss more burecrats in with it, you will break it. As the adage goes, if it aint broke, don't fix it.
Another thing to consider, is the US is very Pro, Freedom
of Speech. To the point that we allow our media to post
state secrets that can hurt us in a time of war. I believe
that is the ideal situation for the Internet to flourish
in. We do NOT want countries with a vested interest in
censorship, to get their hands on the internet.
