WASHINGTON — First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) General Manager Bill D’Agostino announced today that FirstNet has posted its answers to questions received from potential respondents to 10 Requests for Information (RFIs) issued on July 10. The RFIs seek information regarding deployment options for two key portions of the nationwide, broadband public safety network: the radio access network (RAN) and core network.
The detailed answers to more than 100 questions received from equipment manufacturers, service providers, trade associations, local governments, distributors and other stakeholders were posted August 10 in xlxs format on the www.fedbizopps.gov website at https://www.fbo.gov/utils/view?id=b754c82d6b3af26df8bf80e52630ae66.
The answers are divided into sections. A general information section provides details regarding acceptable formats, page limits and other physical characteristics for RFI responses. Additional sections are divided by topic: Partnering and RAN, Deployables, Microwave, Antenna, RAN, Satellite, Evolved Packet Core (EPC), Network Services, Data Center, Transmission and Network Monitoring Center-Operations Monitoring Center (NMC-OMC).
RFI responses are due Aug. 30, 2013, and no extensions will be granted.
