Florida Division of Emergency Management
Florida will utilize its new governing body, FloridaNet, to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP). The State plans to use the FloridaNet Advisory Board and Executive Committee, which includes representatives from local jurisdictions and advocacy organizations, and Florida’s seven existing Regional Domestic Security Task Forces (RDSTF) as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions. Florida’s two federally recognized tribes have previously coordinated with the State on public safety communications issues, and have been invited to participate in the FloridaNet Advisory Board to better engage tribal communities in public safety broadband planning efforts.
