State of Minnesota – Department of Public Safety

Minnesota will use three existing governance bodies – the Statewide Radio Board (SRB), and the Interoperable Data Committee, as well as the Department of Public Safety – Division of Emergency Communications Networks  -- to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP).  The State intends to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan as part of the process, and plans to utilize its seven existing Regional Radio Boards (RRB) and public safety answering points as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.  Minnesota intends to utilize the RRBs and Minnesota Indian Affairs Council to engage its 12 federally recognized tribes in public safety broadband planning efforts.
