New York

New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services

New York will use its existing State Interoperable and Emergency Communication (SIEC) Board and Communications and Interoperability Working Group (CIWG) to implement the SLIGP.  The State intends to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan during the as part of the planning process, and will conduct outreach and education efforts through its SIEC Board, CIWG, and existing interoperable communications consortia/partnerships.  New York’s tribal representative actively participates on the CIWG, and the State will continue to engage tribes about public safety broadband planning efforts throughout the grant program.
