Alabama Department of Homeland Security

Alabama will use its existing Alabama First Responder Wireless Commission (AFRWC) to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP).  The State plans to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan as part of SLIGP, and will use the AFRWC and seven Alabama Department of Homeland Security Regional Advisory Committees and Subcommittees as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.  Alabama‚Äôs single federally recognized tribe is represented on the AFRWC, and will continue to be engaged in public safety broadband planning efforts.
