Rhode Island

Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency

Rhode Island will use its existing Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency (RIEMA) and Interoperable Communications Committee (ICC) to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP).  The State plans to update its Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan as part of SLIGP, and will use trainings, conferences, DVDs, a website, and social media as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.   Rhode Island’s one federally recognized tribe serves on and regularly attends the ICC meetings, and will continue to be engaged in public safety broadband planning efforts.
