America’s economy, technological leadership, and security depend on spectrum—the frequencies used to transmit radio signals for all wireless technologies. Spectrum is a strategically essential area in global technological competition, as it underpins the digital economies of the U.S. and our allies and partners. Spectrum is essential not just for everyday digital products like televisions, cell phones, and Wi-Fi routers, but also for core infrastructure, including critical sectors like aviation, manufacturing, energy, and defense.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is pleased to offer ex parte comments in response to the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) in the above-captioned proceeding. As the President’s principal adviser on telecommunications and information policy, NTIA is charged with developing, coordinating, and effectively presenting Executive Branch views to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission).

SUMMARY:
This notice announces a public meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (Committee). The Committee provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on spectrum management policy matters.
