NTIA Comments Regarding 24 GHz Emission Limits

Docket Number
21-186 and 14-177
Date
Monday, June 28, 2021

NTIA, in response to the Federal Communication Commission’s Public Notice and on behalf of NOAA and NASA, urges the FCC in these formal comments to harmonize its domestic 24 GHz “out-of-band” emission limits (OOBE limits) with those adopted at the 2019 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-19). These new OOBE limits, as adopted at WRC-19, would provide for a two-step approach, with an interim stage lasting through September 2027 when more stringent limits would be imposed. NTIA further recommended that the FCC encourage wireless licensees to comply with the more stringent limits even before 2027.
