WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) will host the 11th annual International Symposium on Advanced Radio Technologies (ISART) from July 27-30, 2010 in Boulder, Colo. The focus of this year's conference is spectrum sharing technologies, including state-of-the-art technology developments and a dialogue on the policy implications of spectrum sharing.
Keynote speakers will be Lawrence E. Strickling, Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information and Administrator of NTIA, and Julius Knapp, Chief of the Office of Engineering and Technology at the Federal Communications Commission.
"The symposium is an excellent opportunity to learn more about cutting-edge, emerging technologies," said Strickling. "We also expect an informative and lively debate on the policy implications of spectrum sharing, an important public interest issue."
Although there is no fee to attend the government-sponsored conference, space is limited. The list of invited speakers includes leading experts from government, academia, and the private sector.
The conference is presented by the Institute for Telecommunication Sciences (ITS), the research and engineering laboratory of NTIA. NTIA serves as the executive branch agency principally responsible for advising the President on communications and information policies.
