Statement of Assistant Secretary Redl on the Passing of Ray Baum

Today, Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information and NTIA Administrator David J. Redl issued the following statement on the passing of Ray Baum, staff director for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce:

“Ray Baum was a dedicated public servant and a dear friend. During our time together on the Energy and Commerce Committee staff, I had the privilege of getting to know the many sides of Ray’s professional life: state legislator, PUC chairman, and congressional staffer. Beyond his many professional achievements, I am also proud to have known Ray personally. He was devoted to his family, and served as a role model and mentor to so many – this will be his lasting legacy. I offer my deepest condolences to his wife Kristine and the entire Baum family.”
