NTIA will convene a virtual meeting of a multistakeholder process on Internet of Things Security Upgradability and Patching on July 18, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Eastern Time. This is the fourth in a series of meetings. NTIA, on behalf of the Department of Commerce, is requesting comment on actions that can be taken to address automated and distributed threats to the digital ecosystem as part of the activity directed by the President in Executive Order 13800, “Strengthening the Cybersecurity of Federal Networks and Critical Infrastructure.”  Through this Request for Comments, NTIA seeks broad input from all interested stakeholders – including private industry, academia, civil society, and other security experts – on ways to improve industry’s ability to reduce threats perpetuated by automated distribu

NTIA issues this Notice on behalf of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) to initiate the annual process to seek expressions of interest from individuals who would like to serve on the FirstNet Board. NTIA issues this Notice to obtain expressions of interest in being selected by the Secretary to the FirstNet Board. Expressions of interest must be postmarked or electronically transmitted on or before May 22, 2017.

The Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee will meet at the National Association of Broadcasters, 1771 N Street NW., Washington, DC 20036. The meeting will be held on May 4, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). NTIA, through the BroadbandUSA program, will hold a technical assistance workshop to share information to help communities build their broadband capacity and utilization. The workshop will present in-depth sessions on planning and funding broadband infrastructure projects. The planning session will explore effective business and partnership models, and the funding session will identify available funding types, including federal funding. The Workshop will be held on April 19, 2017, from 8:30 a.m.

The Department of Commerce's Internet Policy Task Force (Task Force) will host a public meeting to discuss how best to communicate to consumers regarding license terms and restrictions in connection with online transactions involving copyrighted works. This follows up on one of the recommendations that the Task Force presented in its January 2016 White Paper on Remixes, First Sale, and Statutory Damages. The meeting will be held on April 18, 2017, from 1:00 p.m.
