Notice of 11/07/2016 Meeting of Multistakeholder Process to Promote Collaboration on Vulnerability Research Disclosure

NTIA will convene a meeting of a multistakeholder process concerning the collaboration between security researchers and software and system developers and owners to address security vulnerability disclosure on November 7, 2016,  from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Time.  The meeting will be held at the American Institute of Architects, 1735 New York Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20006.  

NTIA Petition To Reconsider or To Clarify Second Report and Order in Technology Transitions, et al

NTIA, as the President’s principal adviser on domestic and international telecommunications policies, and on behalf of federal agency purchasers of telecommunications services, respectfully petitions the Commission to reconsider or to clarify certain parts of its Second Report and Order (Second Report) in the Technology Transitions, et al. proceeding. NTIA and the federal government fully support the “tech transition” and we applaud the Commission for the leadership shown in the Second Report.

On August 18, 2016, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) issued a notice and request for public comments seeking input on the benefits, costs, and challenges they have experienced, as well as any insight into additional incentives that could aid future adoption, implementation, and support of IPv6. In response to requests for additional time in which to comment, NTIA through this notice extends the closing deadline for submitting comments to 5:00 p.m.
