NTIA sought feedback from the public from August 26, 2024 to September 10, 2024 on a BEAD Alternative Broadband Technology Policy Notice to provide additional guidance to Eligible Entities regarding the use of Alternative Technology to serve unserved and underserved locations within their jurisdiction. NTIA thanks the 138 stakeholders that filed comments.

National Spectrum Strategy August Multistakeholder Meeting

Summary

This notice announces a public meeting for providing input to spectrum band studies directed by the National Spectrum Strategy and National Spectrum Strategy Implementation Plan, which instructed the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) to establish a multistakeholder forum for non-Federal stakeholders to engage with the Federal agencies conducting the studies. This is the first of what NTIA expects will be a series of public multistakeholder meetings held approximately every other month.

2023 Federal Broadband Funding Report

The ACCESS BROADBAND Act, 2021 charged NTIA’s Office of Internet Connectivity and Growth (OICG) with capturing data on federal broadband investments, including the number of United States residents receiving broadband services from Universal Service Fund (USF) programs or federal broadband support programs; and reporting on the local economic impact of broadband investments, including any impact on small businesses or jobs.
