TBCP Award
The Upper Mattaponi Tribe received $473,000 to provide affordable broadband services through payment assistance programming and laptop distribution to citizens. As of December 2023, they have assisted at least 20 Tribal homes through the payment assistance program and have distributed 200 laptops to Tribal citizens.
Events
The State of New York’s ConnectALL office conducted government-to-government consultation with two Tribal Nations in Syracuse, New York. TBCP staff presented at this event and assisted with its coordination.
The Maine Connectivity Authority (MCA) conducted government-to-government consultations with both the Passamaquoddy Tribe at Pleasant Point, and Passamaquoddy Tribe of Indian Township. Representatives from the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) and Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program (TBCP) Programs also attended the consultation and provided technical assistance for existing TBCP awards.
